It can be useful to customize the shell for productivity.

Program Option Auto completer

For the aws command:

$ complete -C '/usr/bin/aws_completer' aws

Newer Shell

zsh is a modern shell with plugins.

Install with sudo apt install zsh

Open with zsh and store configuration in .zshrc file.

Change shell with chsh and reboot.

Install plugins

Download program

$ sudo apt install fonts-powerline
$ curl -L git.io/antigen > antigen.zsh
$ echo "source ~/antigen.zsh; antigen init ~/.antigenrc" >> .zshrc

Create initialization file (.antigenrc)

antigen use oh-my-zsh
antigen bundle git
antigen bundle pip
antigen bundle lein
antigen bundle command-not-found
antigen bundle docker
antigen bundle zsh-users/zsh-syntax-highlighting
antigen bundle zsh-users/zsh-autosuggestions
antigen bundel zsh/users/zsh-completions

antigen apply

Autojump for faster file system: sudo apt install autojump, uses j <file>.

Vim Configuration

The Awesome Vim configuration can add code syntax highlighting.

Cat Configuration

Install ccat and use instead of regular cat:

$ sudo apt install golang-go
$ go get -u github.com/owenthereal/ccat
$ cp ccat /usr/bin
